Each year, the Grout Museum District receives dozens of donations of objects and documents from community members just like you!
This new rotating exhibit "Recent Acquisitons" will allow Museum visitors the chance to look back on some of the Museum's favorite donations from the year. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to learn about the entire artifact or archival donation and preservation process.

When a museum accepts a piece into its permanent collection, it promises that it can care for that piece long into the future. This is one of a museum’s most important responsibilities. To ensure that we keep our promises, the Grout Museum District has implement an annual collecting season of Memorial Day through Labor Day. At that time, museum staff will consider offers of donation from the public. After Labor Day, the museum will pause considerations for more donations and focus on caring for those taken in during the collecting season.
If you have objects or records you would like to donate to the museum outside of a collecting season, please hold onto them and wait until the beginning of the next season. Of course, you may call the museum at any time to check and see if anything you have in mind matches what the museum needs. Museum staff need space to operate, and the museum will not hold donations for prospective donors until the next collecting season. Donations may only be brought to the Grout Museum District between Memorial Day and Labor Day, each year.
